American Eagle Progress

This mosaic has been a tough one but I feel it is developing into a pleasing piece of art...

Saving Maho Bay

SPECIAL BULLETIN

We promised to keep you updated on the “Save Maho Camps Fund” so here is good news just in from the Trust for Public Land.
TPL has created a new website for raising funds for Maho Bay Camps at http://www.tpl.org/mahocamps. Visitors to the site can donate directly to the new fund using their credit card payment on this safe, protected site. Since the lease for Maho Bay Camps is expiring and we can’t afford to buy the land, TPL’s purchase of the land is our only hope to continue running the eco-resort. As the Trust for Public Land states,
“Stanley Selengut's lease on the camp property expires in January 2012, and the future of the much-loved campground is in doubt. …we've launched a campaign to raise funds supporting our effort to secure a purchase deal. Won't you join us?”
We are very pleased the TPL fund is now open for donations dedicated toward the purchase of the land Maho now leases and look forward to an exciting next two years at the eco-resort. We hope all are enjoying the warmth of summer, yet still saving a few vacation days to escape to Maho or Concordia during the cold months.
We welcome all your questions, comments, and stories at newsletter@maho.org. Do check out TPL’s website at http://www.tpl.org/mahocamps or simply email John.Garrison@tpl.org.

Adding a flower...Nunnally Mosaics

Friendship Train...

An opportunity arose so, I once took a train from San Francisco to Winston Salem...an experience I was seeking; To see the country by train. It took 3 1/2 days and was fun for about 2 days as we traveled through the Western and Central United States...after Chicago, the train car suddenly got crowded and loud.

They say Trains may make a comeback as public transportation is highly needed but the goal is to provide comfort and speed. It will take some time but a high speed train to California from North Carolina...an 8 hour journey...why not...take a train to Miami, Charleston, Austin, Boston, Ontario, Vancouver, San Francisco...It's time we make this jump.

But we have to do it in style and make it comfortable and fun...like a new car....
